Project Description
Children’s reading abilities vary significantly, even within the same class.
Accordingly, it is imperative to provide books appropriate to the reading levels
of students at different levels in order to encourage reading among all students.
This project will place small libraries in classroom in high-priority schools across the state.
Each library will include between 110 and 150 books at a variety of different reading levels both in
Hindi and English, with a majority of books (approximately 75%) being in Hindi.
These libraries will be directly placed in classrooms, rather than in a separate room,
ensuring that students have easy access to the libraries and books.
